War of the Worlds - A Transmedia Piece


“The medium is the message” is a phrase coined by Marshall McLuhan meaning that the form of a medium embeds itself in the message, creating a symbiotic relationship with the medium and influences how the message is perceived. In this transmedia reinvisioning of the 1938 Orson Welles broadcast of War of the Worlds the medium becomes as important as the message being delivered. Each individual piece of the story communicates a unique message and when combined the story becomes enhanced and transfigured by the multisensory onslaught of story.
